Does EVERY website NEED an interactive community?

I believe that it would be ridiculous to say that every website needs to have an interactive community in order to be successful. There are plenty of websites out there that are extremely successful without having an interactive community. For example take a look at www.as.com or www.marca.com two soccer websites where there is no interactive community and they are some of the largest soccer websites in Spain. It basically depends on the type of website cause websites like facebook or hi5 could not survive without an interactive community.

  1. I agree with your point, some web sites are just not meant to be community sites, and even some of us would even prefer to read at some sites where there is not community and sharing formats in order to keep it simple.

For those of us who look in the internet for a web site for their good content and the quality of its content, like some online newspapers it is not that important to read at the other users opinions.

However some web sites, specially some dedicated to certain sports have some forums so the fans can discuss their ideas and doubts with other fans from all over the world.

  2. I agree with you, that no every website needs an interactive community but the reality shows that websites are getting an interactivity community. This new method has more pros than cons, because when your insurer a fixed amount of people the chance to get advertising in the website is larger and therefore higher profits for the company.
