E-commerce has revolutionized business

E-commerce has revolutionized the way people buy and sell merchandise. In the past you literally had to drive yourself down to the nearest store or mall and search for the product you desired. Now due to e-commerce, the whole shopping experience has been simplified. You no longer have to drive around hoping to find what you are looking for. Now you just have to log on to the internet and search for whatever it is you desire and have it shipped to your home. It has also created the possibility for people like you and me who are trying to start a business to reach a larger target. For example look at this website that facilitates access to places where hand bags and accessories from movie stars are sold.

    FACTS
The macro demographic trend is perfect. There is a huge consensus that the potential growth of E-commerce is inevitable [1]. The returns may get as high as 60% of qualified leads.
There is also the ability to quantify the returns obtained by the advertisement. The Cost per impression (CPM), Cost per thousand impressions, measures with efficiency the web flow. It gives a clear picture of the worth and cost of a specific e-marketing campaign [2].
Several large corporations, such as Johnson & Johnson and Kimberly Clark, have already allocated up to 20 -25% of their media budget to online advertisement [3].
TV ads have increase in price and declined in audience. They are considered to be long, disruptive and avoidable versus online ad which is concise, entertaining, engaging and less disruptive [4-5].
Research conducted by IAG Research and NBC have suggested that online advertising is more effective [4-5].

[...] from these benefits, social media provides marketers with a relatively “cheap” and more effective way of promoting their products and services to a larger more diversified target audience. Furthermore, [...]

Nielsen (top market research organization) reports that the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from TV is 2.1 per cent versus 19.2 per cent from online advertising [4-5].

Other considerations are as follow [6]:
    • Internet advertising is huge
    • Internet advertising is targeted
    • Internet adverting enables good conversion tracking
    • Internet advertising has a lower entry-level fees
    • Internet advertising can be much cheaper
    • Internet advertising has greater range

  2. Internet is the current way we relate to each other as human beings. It has simplified relations and has shorten distances, allowing to anybody to connect with the entire world and even create and develop business.
Although Internet has helped (and obliged) big organizations to reach larger market share, I totally agree with the blogger that the main accomplishment Internet has fulfilled is to permit SME's and even just plain persons to be able to show and locate products to larger group of customers that would not be possible by the traditional distribution channels, totally owned and controlled by the traditional and powerfull players of the market.
Using Darwin's theory, Internet has allowed the survival of the smallest but most flexible, and has encouraged or threatened (depends on the way one can see it) the survival of the biggest.

  3. Using stars as a way of obtaining publicity for a brand is becoming more and more popular. When combining this with e-commerce, companies are getting very good results. Reaching consumers is much more easy.
I am starting a business with a friend. We sell women's clothes and are already planning on selling it in different websites. A lot of the best ones we're considering use stars to sell products.

  5. Business has truly been revolutionized. Being able to shop online for almost anything has alleviated the need to go to a physical store. This includes all products not just inexpensive goods like clothing. Today, you can purchase and have shipped, from www.ice.com a $14,000 pair of earrings.

  6. It is important to mention Mario that it doesn't only helps you to find the right product which you are looking, but also it helps a customer to compare different websites, brands of products or even similar products so that the customer can really have his best choice.

At the same time it has become the best way to buy while saving money for the users who are not willing to pay the extra dollars that the huge stores charge us and it can assure us we can get the best price in the whole market.

  7. A large percentage of electronic commerce is conducted entirely electronically for virtual items such as access to premium content on a website, but most electronic commerce involves the transportation of physical items in some way. Online retailers are sometimes known as e-tailers and online retail is sometimes known as e-tail. Almost all big retailers have electronic commerce presence on the World Wide Web.
